All of the rental package details and prices can be found on our Investment page. We have different options based on number of guests and day of the week.
Pricing subject to change at any time. Your contract rated and terms will be based on the date the contract is written, not the date of the tour. (Sometimes couples tour weeks or months before they book, or before we open a future year calendar for booking. If there has been a change in rate, the contracted investment/terms will be based on the date we wrote the contract, not the date of the tour.)
Our indoor space has a sweet spot of 225 guests or less including your the bridal party. It leaves a little bit of elbow room and allows more flexibility on the table layout. We are, however, able to accommodate up to 300 guests with a less flexible floorplan option.
As one of the few year-round venues in the Bozeman area, we currently have a great selection of dates still available for 2022 and 2023.
Please see the available dates here.
Prior to booking a date, we encourage you to come meet us and tour the ranch. An in-person tour is not required, just a friendly suggestion.
You can email us at events@hartranch406.com with your date and let us know that you are ready to secure your date.
Dates are reserved on a first requested basis. Whomever has requested to start the contract process from us by email first for a specific date will be first in line. Hart Ranch Weddings will keep all dates open until we have a signed contract and required deposit.
Yes. We require a signed contract and $1,000 deposit to hold your date. Then 50% of the remaining fee will be due 9 months before your day and the final installment is due 60 days prior to the wedding. You are welcome to send smaller, partial payments of any amount prior to the specified due date, so in effect creating your own payment plan on your own schedule.
We are a working horse ranch so we kindly request that all tours are by appointment only. You can request a tour here.
In general, we believe the average budget of a couple getting married at Hart Ranch is between $15,000-$17,000 for all wedding expenses (venue, food, dress, DJ, photographer, etc.). We have had some creative couples with smaller guests lists host beautiful weddings in the $10,000 – $12,000 range, and we have had several lovely events here spending significantly more than the average.
No. Many venues have minimums because they make a 10 – 15% commission from the caterer based on how much you spend on food and drinks. We choose NOT to make a commission because we want our food and beverage options to be as elegant or affordable as your budget allows, and therefore we don’t have a food and beverage or guest count minimum.
No. You will have exclusive access to the Ranch on your wedding day to ensure you receive our full attention. We do not host tours on wedding days, either.
150 cars plus grassy over flow for additional 100 cars
We have a limited number of straight tables on-site that can be used for your gift table, head table, etc. Usually, we have a few extras that can be mixed in with reception seating, but the majority of your guests will be seated at round table. Hint: Don’t forget to include the gift table, dessert tables, caterer tables and other extra tables in your linen count!
No. Hart Ranch provides an awesome venue, tables, upgraded wedding chairs, and lots of decor for the allotted amount of time. Linens can be rented through us, but are NOT included in the rental fee. You are also welcome to bring your own linens.
In case of inclement weather, we can host your ceremony indoors. Any last minutes changes would mean your guests sit at the tables in the floorplan already setup for the reception. This means we don’t “flip” the room from your ceremony to the reception as this helps to ensures a smooth transition into the reception and makes the decision to bring a ceremony inside (or not) much less stressful for you or your guests.
We do have other options available for weddings booked during certain seasons when an outdoor ceremony isn’t possible.
Because we only host one event per day, our fee structure remains the same whether you hold your ceremony, reception, or both on-site.
We are dog-friendly, with some specific stipulations. Dogs are only allowed with pre-approval by Heather to be part of the ceremony and for pictures and must be on a leash at all times. We also require that someone other than the bride and groom be responsible for the dog. No animals, other than service animals, are allowed inside the venue, bridal suite or groom’s cabin. Please have a plan for the dog post photos that doesn’t include being put in a hot car. A $200 cleaning fee will be assessed if pets are found in prohibited areas.
Our preferred form of payment is cash, check or ACH. We also accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover with an additional 3% processing fee.
We do not keep a cancellation waiting list because cancellations are unpredictable. As soon as a date does become available we post it here.
You will have access to the venue at the time listed on your contract, not earlier. Please plan accordingly!
Broken Hart Ranch is the name of our horse ranch on the same property with the same address. “Hart” is our last name.
Unfortunately, if you’re trying to compare venues “apples to apples”, we feel like this is a tricky question. Our answer is no. We think its possible for the job duties of a “day-of wedding coordinator” to mean something different to you than it does to us, and the last thing we want is the opportunity for miscommunication. However, we do have a Hart Ranch representative here before you arrive who is available to you throughout the duration of your big day. Their goal is to do everything possible to help your day go smoothly and ensure your day is as stress-free as possible with any property-related questions or needs.
Our open house events are designed for couples who have already had a private tour of Hart Ranch. If we have already had the chance to meet we welcome you out to one of our open house events. Open house dates and the RSVP form can be found here.
Unfortunately, the ranch will likely be reserved for another event, we will be unable to accommodate an on-site rehearsal the day before your wedding. For that reason one day rentals should plan for an offsite rehearsal. We are happy to recommend some alternative options or some great locations for your off-site rehearsal dinner or cocktail hour.
Fireworks are not permitted on the ranch. We don’t want to scare the neighbors and we want to keep the fire department happy.
However, we do allow sparklers for a grand newlywed exit and that can make for some really cool photos! Check out our Gallery Page to see for yourself!
Yes, we want to make sure all of your guests make it home safely, so if that means leaving a vehicle overnight, that’s just fine. We request that all remaining vehicles are picked up by 10am before the next reservation begins.
Music on Fridays/Saturdays must conclude by 11:00 p.m. to ensure that you, all of your items, and all of your vendors are off-property by 1 a.m. Music on Sundays must conclude by 8:30 p.m. to be off property by the 10:00 pm reservation end time.
We prefer all deliveries must happen during the standard rental period. Please advise your vendors of this policy or contact us prior for special arrangements.
Unfortunately, because we are a working ranch there isn’t another flat area that is suitable for a ceremony. All ceremonies do need to take place at the 2 Heart Chapel, Reflective Pond, inside the venue, or at another venue/church of your choosing offsite.
While most of our couples choose to utilize our 2 Heart Chapel, we do have a few other options that include next to the reflection pond, inside the venue, or your choice of a different off-site venue/church.
Yes, dripless only candles are allowed as long as the flame is completely contained in a candle holder. Tapered candles and any type of hanging candles will not be allowed for safety reasons.
In a pinch, yes if one is a child, but we would not recommend it for your guests comfort

We request that holes are not placed in the walls. We will have areas where hooks are already placed that you are welcome to use for any additional decorations. The beams are very tall and not reachable by a ladder so the strings of lights installed are considered permanent and we do not allow for anything to be hung from the beams. We hope that you will find them beautiful without any extra work!
